"Alea iacta est."

"The die is cast"
A popular phrase meaning that when something has momentum it is difficult to stop or change. It is also the phrase uttered by Julius Caesar as he and his 13th Legion crossed the Rubicon River in Italy which lead to civil war.
Once he deployed the troops and ordered the river crossing he knew that it was too late to turn back.
