Can I?

True Story. I was having breathing issues several years ago so I went to see my doctor. He sent me to a specialist in Evansville. It was a weird appointment as I was taken to his office, not a patient waiting room.

Once seated in the chair in front of his unexpectedly messy desk he began to ask me a series of questions. The normal history and wellness stuff. Then he got to the question about smoking.

"Do you smoke cigarettes?"

"Yes, sir I do."

"Do you smoke anything else?"

"An occasional cigar or two."

That is when he gave me a level stare and said candidly.

"Do you smoke pot?"

To which I replied

"Can I?"

I laughed...he didn't...
