The awakening was not predicted by science nor did the marvels of technology save us. For, on that day, the day magic returned, the laws that governed the physical world as we knew them changed leading to the impossible once more.
It was the scattered and beaten tribes that kept the old ways which first felt it, as their shaman, reaching out to their ancestors found its power where only once faith resided. A power they kept for their own.
Then the forest came alive once more with both marvel and terror that the rest of humanity could not counter, as it again tried to learn arts long forgotten. This time, which lasted for three hundred years, was a time of darkness for man but in it, the earth was healed of their numbers and greed. The forest again covered the lands and the green dragon guarded the sky.
But mankind, though scattered, learned the ways the shamans hid from them and grew in strength as their numbers dwindled. It was in this time, as the death of humanity loomed, that a boy was born, his given name Bob.
