Hope in Humanity & Toilet Paper

I have witnessed some of the most selfish parts of humanity during the COVID-19 pandemic. I have heard of people accosting people in business for no other reason than they were respecting the need for face masks to support public safety. I have watched as some have proclaimed their right not to wear a mask, thinking that their mask is meant to protect themselves not those around them. I have seen so much hate (and toilet paper hoarding)...
But I have also seen the best parts of humanity from those that have stepped past their baser notions. I have witnessed businesses and organizations reach out to feed children affected by school closings. I saw where one family made a tube running down their front porch handrail in preparation to safely give candy to children on Halloween. Another man put up a go fund me account and held a fireworks display, not complaining about the city canceling it, he did something. I deeply respect his actions.
The point is that those that have stepped up to support the community during these hard times should never be forgotten and we should honored them for their actions.
The rest of them...well...I am going to step past my baser instincts and say, love them and respect their rights to add risk to the community.
